Reminder: Final Exam Time

Our final class meeting time is this Thursday, December 8th at 1pm in our usual classroom. Please bring your final Rodchenko book, and your process book. I will collect these to grade.

I look forward to seeing your work!

What’s due Wednesday, Nov 30th?

Bring a printed ‘dummy’ or mock-up of your book that we can mark up with revisions. This will be a good trial run to look at consistency and pacing. You will get written feedback from Megan, Sean, and your classmates. Your goal is to have a clear direction on how to revise your final, due on December 8th.

Last Week of Class!!

Please use your time productively for our last two class meetings. We will continue working in class and having desk crits, as I think it is the best use of your time. Be sure to work outside of class as well, so you can make leaps and bounds in your progress.

I should see cover designs from everyone this week. Don’t leave it until the last minute!!

Final Exam Time / Exhibition book due

Hello! Our last class will meet according to the Final Exam Time that I received from the art office, which is Thursday, December 8th at 1pm in our classroom (165). This should not overlap with your other exam times.

What to bring to our last meeting?

1. Rodchenko Exhibition book bound and trimmed
2. A process notebook that contains process work for the Exhibition Book

I look forward to seeing your final books!!

What’s due Wednesday, Nov 23rd?

Keep moving forward!! We are all at slightly different points in the process, but it’s important not to lose momentum. Bring cover sketches. Consider TOC, and inside covers. Complete and revise your book map, which may change once your copy is flowed in.

What’s due Monday, Nov 14th?

Please keep up to date with the detailed schedule attached to the project brief.

All type studies are due Monday. These include:

1. Typeface studies
2. Ratio of proportion studies
3. Three inDesign layouts of ‘typical spreads’.

Hang up type studies and 3 spreads as soon as you get into class for a critique.
Goal: select one layout direction to be applied to the entire publication.
